CONVERSATIONS WITH CREATIVES:
Seeing beyond the Human
This conversation explores ways of thinking, imagining and creating that move beyond human-centred perspectives — drawing on multispecies thinking, Afrofuturism, more-than-human rights and the evolving legal recognition of nature as a sentient subject. Together, our guests reflect on how their work challenges inherited boundaries and opens up new ways of relating, perceiving and protecting.
Luna Mrozik Gawler is an artist and researcher whose work explores justice and imagination across species. Engaging with ecofeminism, myth and embodied storytelling, Luna invites us into creative relationships that centre care, complexity and kinship with the living world.
Jana Nicole is a mixed media artist whose vibrant and layered work draws from natural history, ancestral memory and speculative futures. Her practice bridges the surreal and the symbolic, offering portals into other-than-human worlds and alternate realities.
Granville Carroll is a conceptual photographer and visual storyteller who works at the intersection of Afrofuturism, cosmology and ecology. Through immersive imagery, he invites viewers to confront the limits of perception and to reimagine the self as part of an expansive, interdependent universe.
