CONVERSATIONS WITH CREATIVES:

Collaboration with Land, Sea & Sky

This session explores creative methods for collaborating with Land, Sea, and Sky — asking how we might listen to, work with and be shaped by the more-than-human world. Through diverse artistic practices, our guests share how their work emerges in dialogue with place, light, and elemental presence.

Lynda Laird is an artist working across photography, sound, and installation. Her practice often engages with remote landscapes and atmospheric phenomena, capturing the unseen layers of place — from memory and myth to environmental shifts.

Melanie King is a visual artist and astronomer whose work bridges science and art, particularly through analog photography, planetary materials, and celestial light. Her projects reframe our relationship with the cosmos and invite reverence for the elemental.

Charlotte Smithson is an interdisciplinary artist whose installations and rituals are grounded in the cycles of nature. Drawing from observation, ecology, and seasonal rhythm, her work explores the porous boundaries between human and more-than-human experience.
