CONVERSATIONS WITH CREATIVES:

Nature Palettes

This creative discussion explores how artists work with the Earth as both subject and collaborator — through natural dyes, environmental illustration and printmaking with the land. From plants to pigments to protest, the conversation touches on how art becomes a medium of connection, resistance and renewal.

Elin Manon is a freelance illustrator from Wales, now based in Cornwall. Her work—rooted in ecology, folklore and anthropology—aims to deepen our connection with the natural world by reflecting the landscape’s stories through storytelling and artistry.

Rosanna Morris is a Bristol-based illustrator and relief printmaker with over ten years’ experience. She works from her studio in East Bristol, creating bold, hand-carved prints that speak to land justice, food sovereignty and collaboration through community workshops .

Sasha Duerr is an artist, designer and educator who specialises in plant-based colour and natural dye-making, including food and floral waste. Founder of the Permacouture Institute, author of The Handbook of Natural Plant Dyes and Natural Palettes, and Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts, Sasha’s practice blends ecology, slow fashion and pedagogical creative research .
